Creston Valley Thunder Cats forward Reece Nelson will play for the University of Jamestown Jimmies in the ACHA next season.
Nelson finished third on the Thunder Cats with 43 points in 44 games. He had five points in 12 KIJHL Teck Cup championships to help the Thunder Cats reach the second round.
“I am very thankful for the opportunity to play for the Jimmies next year and am extremely excited to get started,” said Nelson.
Thunder Cats Head Coach-GM Brad Tobin said Nelson was proactive from the start this season looking at his post-secondary options. He’s happy to see Nelson choose the University of Jamestown.
“He’s going to a program that recruits heavily from the KIJHL, which will help him acclimate quickly to the ACHA,” said Tobin, of the Jimmies, which had 16 KIJHL alum on their roster this past season.
