Kwiatkowski Signs with Cats

The Creston Valley Thunder Cats announced today the signing of 2002 forward Sheldon Kwiatkowski. Sheldon hails from Sexsmith, AB, and brings his talents to the Creston Valley after spending last season in the SJHL with the Weyburn Red Wings. He split the 2019/2020 season with the Grande Prairie Storm U18 AAA and the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL. In the 2018/2019 season, his first season with the Grande Prairie Storm U18 AAA, Kwiatkowski scored 36 points in 34 games while also playing 5 games with the Whitecourt Wolverines of the AJHL.

General Manager and Head Coach Bill Rotheisler praised, “Sheldon has gone through a lot in his junior hockey career so far. He is passionate, skilled, and he wants to not only contribute but continue to get better and better. That is an invaluable trait. Sheldon could have played almost anywhere, and his commitment to us, himself, and the sport is something we are excited to bring into our room and our play on the ice. We have high expectations for his time as a Thunder Cat”.

On his decision to join the Thunder Cats Kwiatkowski stated, “Bill and [Brandon] were great to talk to and had me hooked with their enthusiasm and culture as well as winning and player development.” Sheldon continues, “I believe I bring a lot of passion and compete along with a good sense of hockey IQ. I love to slow the game down when needed and set up plays”.

Kwiatowski joins the Thunder Cats immediately and will be on the ice for main camp starting Friday.
