The Creston Valley Thunder Cats take pride in developing players for the next level in hockey, whether that is for Junior A or directly to college. Our organization also takes just as much pride in preparing our players for life and contributing off the ice as much as on it.
McConnell Kimmett (3 Seasons; 2014-17)
Former captain McConnell Kimmett played three full seasons after graduating midget hockey at Edge School. McConnell then went to the University of Alberta where he spent the next two seasons with the U of A Golden Bears USports team. McConnell played a level that many players who play junior A strive, and fail, to get to. We are proud of you McConnell for making the best of your opportunity and development.
Testimonial: “Playing in Creston gave me the opportunity to grow as a player and person to get to the next level. The Thunder Cats aren’t a typical “Junior B” organization, it’s an organization that’s set up in a way to develop young hockey players in a competitive environment. I spent three years in Creston, and one of those years playing under (current GM/Head Coach) Bill. Bill is a very competitive coach that loves to win but I believe he takes more pride in seeing players move up and reach high levels. This mimics the overall culture of the organization as it focuses on personal and player development. I was able to mature and grow as a person and hockey player which prepared me for the challenges of playing university hockey”.
