KIJHL alumni share SJHL goalie award

Kootenay International Junior Hockey League alumni Harmon Laser-Hume (Creston Valley Thunder Cats) and Kenneth Marquart (Osoyoos Coyotes) have been named the SaskTel Goalie of the Week for Oct. 9-15 in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

The SJHL decided to reward the Flin Flon Bombers tandem as they had nearly identical numbers. Both goaltenders let in just one goal in two games, had a shutout, and both earned two wins as the Bombers swept their four game in five night road trip in southern Saskatchewan.

Weekly stats: Laser-Hume: 2GP, 2-0-0-0, 0.5 goals against average, .983 save percentage, 1 SO. Marquart: 2GP, 2-0-0-0, 0.48 GAA, .980 SP, 1 SO.

For the season, Laser-Hume has five wins in six games with a 2.33 GAA and a .918 SP and 1 SO, while Marquart is 4-0 with a 1.71 GAA and a .938 SP and 1 SO. Marquart ranks third in the SJHL for GAA and fourth for SP.

Laser-Hume played for the Thunder Cats in 2021-22 winning five of seven games with a .925 SP and a 1.86 GAA with three shutouts. Marquart played for the Coyotes in 21-22 and was 16-1-0 in 22 games with a .904 SP and a 2.72 GAA. He won four of seven playoff games.
